A Love of Art Runs Through Hook Life

artist Dimitry Schidlovsky in studio

Hook Life was born in an art studio, designed as a bumper sticker that Dimitry gave to buyers of his angling-themed paintings and prints.  A simple, stylized hook uncluttered by words and other imagery.

A marine biologist and artist by training, Dimitry has produced nature and science commissions for Audubon, The New York Times, Outdoor Life, Scientific American, Smithsonian, publishers and museums.  He's currently working on a marine art installation at the Oregon Aquarium.

Dimitry is a prolific painter whose contemporary abstract oil paintings, nature scenes and still life are in private collections and institutions around the world.

Dimitry graduated from the Parsons School of Design and is a professor of art.
